OFSTED

Ofsted judged Kidsgrove Primary to be a 'GOOD' Overall and 'OUTSTANDING' in Early Years, Leadership and Management, and Personal Development in May 2022.

Kidsgrove Primary School and Shaw Education Trust are delighted to announce that Kidsgrove Primary School has been graded Ofsted ‘GOOD’ following an inspection in May 2022.

The Ofsted inspectors were impressed with the highly ambitious curriculum offered and the exceptional Personal Development provision available for all the children. They were also impressed by the transformational behaviour where pupils set extremely high standards of behaviour and their positive engagement with learning.

Here are a few highlights from the report:

  • Pupils are extremely enthusiastic about their learning, especially in reading and art and design.
  • Leaders challenge pupils to do as well as they can.  This leads to pupils succeeding highly in English and Mathematics.
  • Support and adaptions are highly effective for Special Educational Needs and /or Disabilities (SEND)
  • Younger children get off to an exceptional start
  • Parents are overwhelmingly positive about the school, particularly staff commitment to support and nurture of their children
  • Adults’ expert knowledge help pupils achieve highly
  • Pupils benefit from the extensive range of clubs, including in sport and music.

This ‘GOOD’ grade has been achieved by a team effort of which we are very proud. It is a recognition of our relentless drive for improvement, excellence and equality which is shown by our teaching and support staff, leadership team, Academy Council, Shaw Education Trust team and Trustees. Most importantly, it is a recognition of the excellent attitudes to learning of all the children. Kidsgrove Primary School and Shaw Education Trust are always looking forward. We intend to continue to build on this Ofsted result with our ongoing evaluation and improvement plan and as well as increasing Kidsgrove’s engagement within the wider community.
