In Geography, Owls class are studying coastal processes and landforms.

We have learned how erosion shapes are coastline through the processes of transportation and deposition. Four main landforms have been studied and annotated diagrams drawn to enhance our learning. These are bays, headlands, beaches and cliffs. The south coast of England has been used as a case study to give real life examples of our work. Human’s attempts to shape and control the coast have been looked at including sea walls and groynes. We have discovered that all too often these attempts can be in vain or create an impact in another part of the coastline.

Next week we are studying the Jurassic Coastline and can’t wait to learn all about the fossils it contains.
